Sdtech.com's getting a new spine!

Today marks the first day of Sdtech's migration to a FreeBSD-based server architecture. The full migration of our servers shall be a true test in strength as to our team's ability to withstand technological enhancements of the sort. Intranet and Intranet services will be interupted from september 13th, 2005 onwards until we figure out which direction the company shall take. A full documentation of our intrepid adventures into the world of BSDUnix will be posted here.
The entire domain will be migrated to our own servers and we will be taking over full administrative responsabilities of our installations. Further on we plan on studying the subtile differences in COOP (Cost Of Operations) and in versatility as to the software one may want to run.
The migration will be done in to parts. The first one being server-based and the second one being workstation-based.
We at Sdtech Networks believe that running an information technology infrastructure that is relatively complex shouldn't be secluded to the use of Microsoft based applications. We certainly hope we can help a few other companies become more aware of cost effecient solutions available to them.
Take notes that updates to the documentation we make will only be available after 5h00 P.M. eastern time here and on Sdtech's temporary FTP site.
That being said, let's get compiling!
